I like painting art and looking at arts and crafts.

Went to the Las Vegas Artists' Guild for my first time today, to see the work of Bryan Bolosan. What a nice gallery. I was able to experience several other artists work on display as well. A very friendly atmosphere, with an extremely nice and personable staff. Im sure Ill be adding visits to the gallery on future visits to the Galleria Mall.

Nice to browse n see local talent. Breaks up so many stores that look the same.

Great place to view and support our local Las Vegas artists. We have some incredibly talented people here! Go see their work and support the gallery. They are non profit organization so please donate or consider buying a piece so they can continue to help local artists.

I am a bit biased since I was a member for a year, but I think it's a fantastic non-profit art community that many people will like and enjoy. Most of the people you encounter working there are volunteers that are very nice and very helpful if you strike up a conversation while there. There are some pros and cons, and some in between. So I'll start at the in between pro and con: First pro and con is that the shows are not juried usually, which honestly can be bad in circumstances where you'd want to have a goal for improvement. It's nice to know where you stand with other talent, know where your work is at, and to have an end goal of prize money or an award. However on the other hand, I think it's great that it's more of a "for fun" type of Art Gallery. Most of the members are seniors or retirees or people with unrelated to art day jobs (like me). There are many who are in the beginnings of their art journey as well who need that low pressure non competitive atmosphere to get started and that's nice. I am not a beginner but I definitely feel like one still, and my journey hasn't been as consistent as I'd like so I kind of appreciate this low pressure environment as well. First Con - is involved with the coronavirus and also the space itself. It's inside of a mall where many things have closed recently due to the current circumstances. As it is I was never really a big fan of the gallery being within a mall because even on busy nights most people come to look only. Mall people aren't exactly going to support local artists if they're there to get food and clothes. And now that the mall has so many empty businesses I just don't see any traffic happening right now whatsoever. Also I think that the art fairs that would happen occasionally stopped happening altogether. Second Con- would be that they don't yet have an established class/workshop system which is what I was always interested in being involved in. And there really isn't much space to have classes or workshops there in the gallery. First Pro-is that the people running and volunteering clearly care about the art community and making things happen. I personally love that. Second Pro - is/was the Saturday night live sessions. I got to the point where I looked forward to those every week. Generally as a volunteer it's ok for you to live paint/draw at any time if you asked and organized it with the gallery first. Saturday night live was always a fun party even on nights where not too much was going on. Finally there are usually lots of different works and different styles there each month which each new show. Some might be big hits and many might be misses for your personal taste, but it's worth it to check out each show to see what the local artists are up to. And as always I highly recommend Saturday nights. It's worth a membership if you are so inclined to start a new art hobby or if you're established and just moved here and want a place to start.
