Yesterday around 3 was working outside and saw someone tried to set fire to a tree in my yard.made report online yet decided to follow up and do a written report.go to Topeka police department and since was arsonist related.so go to Topeka fire department 10:45 wait awhile was told chief be out in a bit .he comes out treating me like someone with leprosy. Tell me to go outside keep distance thought was strange yet kind of understand since virus times we are in.started to tell him the issue yet he asked for exact time said not sure wasn't there .I noticed it at 3pm he could not do nothing unless had exactly even though call them March 7 for another fire yet not on my property. So I trying do the right thing and let them know they did not care.so I told him thanks for nothing. I take care of it myself have to get guns keep me and my property in check.really sad as a taxpayer not getting my money worth from these people. There better not ask me for more money like when they have the boots on the street. I will not give them any more money until the use the one the got better or doing a better job.
I have had nothing but good experiences working with the fire department. I have gotten burn permits from them every year without hitch. They are nice to deal with when you call them on the phone before and after a burn.
