The Travelers Rest Bed and Breakfast is in a beautiful custom built home. It sits on a large property and is completely surrounded by trees and bushes, which gives it a very secluded feel. One sees rabbits, squirrels, and the occasional deer in the yard. The neighborhood is quiet and one can sit outside, drink coffee, and converse quietly with little or no traffic noise. Currently the two rooms available are down a flight of stairs and are not handicapped accessible, but plans are in the works to add a third room which will be designed with the handicapped in mind. The main floor is airy and spacious. The owners are a delightful couple, who make every effort to satisfy their customers. The breakfasts were more than ample and delicious. Both of the current bedrooms are sizeable and the beds comfortable. The towels would do justice to a top of the line hotel. I would recommend the Travelers Rest to anyone visiting in Manhattan, KS.
