Smurthwaite was my home from August 2005 to December 2008, and choosing to live there was one of the best and by far the most long-lastingly influential decision I made while a student at Kansas State University. Smurthwaite Women’s Scholarship Leadership House is the best of both worlds if you can’t decide between dorm life and sorority life and you’re looking to save on housing and dining costs. I learned so much cooking in the kitchen, and I still get together with Smurthie friends and old roommates.nnI gained team leadership and project management skills through the responsibilities of the positions I was elected to in the house each year. The dorm room sizes are good, the study and computer lab room were excellent, the laundry room was easy to use, the large living and dining rooms were still homey and inviting, and the bathrooms were always clean and second to none on campus. We could cook our own food in the kitchen on the weekends, and living just across the street from campus afforded us a more tranquil home than living in the dorms.nnWe Smurthwaite ladies studied and exercised and enjoyed university together and I will always treasure the memories from my time there!
