MacDonald Ranch Modern Dentistry

As much as I hate writing poor reviews, I want to make sure everyone knows of my experience so they can find a better dentist for them and their families. I have been seen by this dentist office a total of three times now. All three times I had issues. Today in particular when I thought I was going in for a cleaning (which did not happen), instead I left with a $700 quote to fix a certain issue they told me I have and that is the only way I could get my cleanings done. Mind you, every time I have gone in, I have walked out with an ailment I've never had, and now to add to it, the fear that my teeth are going to rot out of my head if I don't drop the cash and do it right away. Beware. While they are friendly and inviting when you first walk in, if you do not spend money walking out, they won't look at you, nor will they say goodbye. That is what mostly did it for me. Just the pure disrespect I felt on the way out the door. This happened today and the last two times I was here. I am sorry, but I do not think it's professional to manipulate your patients into spending ungodly amounts of money by scaring them. I will be getting a second opinion of course, but I just thought I would share my experience with others so they knew to bring money with them for procedures they will make you think you need RIGHT THEN IN THE CHAIR. Trust your gut. I thought the third time would be a charm, but I will not be returning.

MacDonald Ranch Modern Dentistry has taken care of me and my family for about 10 years now, and I have been happy with them every single time I have come in! The dentists working here have changed a few times over the years but I’ve liked every one I’ve had. Dr. Martinez is great and so are all the hygienists and assistants working here. As long as I live close enough to this place they have my business!

I had a root canal and crown done there. Very clean and professional. They sold me a crown that was instant. I thought it was very cool to get a crown at the same appointment. What I wasn't advised and didn't know is that the crown is a round weird shape tooth, not actual tooth shape. Its weird and doesn't feel right. I had no idea until after the fact. Also, more importantly, months later I had pain in the same tooth that had the root canal. They did free images and found that it needed to be redone as the first time did not reach all the nerves. They wanted to charge me full fees to redo their failed procedure that was originally done and paid in full. With dentistry, I'm picky. Its not like a burger joint. The work must be done correctly and the doctors must stand behind their work. When they told me I wouldn't even get some kind of reduction of fees to redo the root canal, I'd had enough and found a new more professional dentist who stands behind their work and takes the time to detail everything. Its too bad. I like Dr Martinez, he's a nice guy, but he has poor business ethics and it's his name on the door. He is responsible for all procedures under his roof. Therefore I point to him for the poor decision to not offer any type of remedy when I confirmed their procedure didn't take. With fierce competition in the dentist industry, I do not recommend MacDonald Ranch Modern Dentistry.

First, the work performed has always been of good quality, and I have no issue with their work. The location seems to have a very high turnover of staff. I seem to always have a different hygienist and receptionist when I go. The original staff I started with were fantastic, but the newer ones not so much. Having paid up-front on any service I have performed with them (and had my insurance cover the rest) I have always been happy. At some point my insurance thought I might have another insurance (Only ever had this one) and they apparently declined to pay for my previous visit. MacDonald Ranch's receptionist claims to have called me multiple times to let me know, but I never answered. And they claim to have sent me letters which I never received. When they called to verify my next appointment I answered immediately and the outstanding bill was never mentioned. When I get there they refuse to service unless I pay the $160~ outstanding on the bill (This is for a regular cleaning which costs me $15~ normally). I ended up paying only because I wanted to proceed with my current appointment, but they didn't work with me in any way. Said it's my fault and that I had ignored their attempts to work it out. I never received a call, had a VM or a letter regarding this. But hey ho. Now with all this COVID stuff I haven't been back, and I will just find another provider once everyone opens for preventative services again.

This place is great! Been coming here for a few years now and everything is great including the staff. Fast and convenient!
