Holiday Inn Express & Suites Olathe South

My girlfriend and I were staying for one night for a little girls night so we could hangout in the hot tub. First room, smelled like old cigarettes, floor was wet. They changed us rooms. Second room, had a massive hole in the wall, the sheets were stained, there was hair in the sheets, bugs, the shower wouldn’t run hot water. The hot tub smelled like dirty feet, too much chlorine. We asked for a refund, they said since we have been there for more than 8 hours, no refund could be issued. We were there for no more then 6 hours. If that. Staff was decent.

I stayed at this hotel for about 2 weeks when I was on business and honestly man one of most pleasant stays I have ever had at a hotel. The staff was really nice, there were tons of options for snacks, the morning breakfast was great for when I came in from graveyard shift and last thing, the pool option is a must, they keep the water so nice and maintained I spent a lot of time in there. A side note, there is a lot of nice places to eat around the hotel and there is a Target right across the street from the hotel for easy, practical purchases.

Hotel is the best hotel in Olathe by far and the nicest staff and rooms. Could not ask for a better price and comfort i would recommend it to anyone in or outside the area that needs to rest their head or just to get away from the normal hustle and bustle of their everyday lives

Tonight's room is room 125 of the Holiday Inn Express South in Olathe KansasnFrom the outside the building is quite stunning the interior design has a nice modern vibe to it.nHaving J.R.Watkins products in the bath was a nice touch that I greatly appreciate.nTERRY the night clerk who checked me in was efficient effective and quite enjoyably entertaining he is definitely a credit to this place!nnHowever we need to talk about the dirty elephant in the room and that would be the SMELL in the room, it was definitely not pleasant and I got the hint that the hotel is aware of it by the fact that there is a plug in ionizer in the room. Then I saw all the other reviews that also mentioned this problem going back over a year, I was going to ask for another room however it appears to be an endemic problem throughout the facility.nnAnother disappointment here is I was told at check in that this hotel doesn't give points as part of the IHG rewards club which im a member of, however the IHG rewards club is mentioned several places around the facility including on the cover for the room keys. Very disappointingnI chose this hotel and had my company put me up here because I wanted to earn rewards and the place looked great.nI'm not sure that I will make that choice again, I normally stay up the street from here when I'm here for business, I may need to stay at the other hotel next time I come back

Mold - Mold - MoldnnStay Away. I arrived late and was given a room on the 2nd floor near the elevator. As I exited the elevator the carpet in the hall outside my room was soaked. Inside the room the smell was like a musty old cave. I went back to the lobby and was given a 1st floor room. This room also smelt moldy but I was tied and slept for a few hours and went to work. When I returned in the afternoon I noticed the AC unit was moldy. I went to the lobby explained the situation and asked for another room. I was given a 3rd floor room. The first thing I checked was the AC unit and again it was moldy. I took pictures and by this time I'd noticed all 3 rooms were equipped with Newair negative ion plug in room deodorizers. Back to the lobby. Checked out and requested a refund that i was given after threatening notifying local heath officials. They denied that they have a mold problem but with mold in 3 rooms on all 3 floors and the room deodorizers there is no way that they are unaware.
