Dr. Arnspinger has an amazing talent/gift in performing in an extremely difficult job and I highly recommend Dr. Arnspinger. I don't higher a surgeon for good administration, I want to feel confident I wake up from surgery and it is done correctly. KU Hospital has issues with administration, but that's not his deal. I would not recommend KU emergency, but was treated extraordinally well at KU under Dr. Arnspinger.nnArnspinger

Unfortunately, Dr. Arnspiger is no longer seeing his previous patients. As far as I can tell, he has abandoned my care. After navigating the KU Medical appointments run-around, I was told that I could only talk to my primary care physician. I used to be able to call Arnspiger's office and get in for advice and prescription refills, but no longer. Fine if you need him to heal with steel or use a laser on you. Not fine if you need chronic care.

I want to be fair in this review, so let me start by saying that my wife received excellent medical care from Dr. Arnspiger. He’s a thoughtful and talented physician and I have complete confidence in his medical skills.nnBut… the office is a complete disaster in terms of organization and patient service.nnMy wife had a follow-up appointment at 1pm today, a simple 10-minute visit following a vein procedure. We arrived 5 minutes early, she completed the paperwork and then we waited. At 2pm, I asked to speak to the Practice Manager to voice my complaint about not having yet been seen. Her response was an apology and something along the lines of, “We see complex cases here, wounds, and sometimes we just don’t know how long that will take.” In other words, “things happen, there’s nothing we can do about them.”nnAt 2:15pm, the doctor came in. He also apologized and, though not word-for-word, he explained that they see complex cases, wounds, not sure how long they will take. Same, exact message.nnThis indicates to me that they face these criticisms routinely but, rather than attempting to resolve the issue, they developed their canned excuse to placate patients.nnWould it not make sense to segregate the routine 10-minute follow-ups from the complex cases? If you have 5 follow-ups in the day, schedule them for the first 5 slots, take care of them all in the first hour and then move on to your complex patients. That way, you’ll guarantee the brief follow-up patients will be seen in a timely manner.nnThat may not be the answer, but anything is better than the sloppy and disrespectful manner in which they now schedule patients.nnAgain, to be clear, I like and respect Dr. Arnspiger, but the way he and his Practice Manager run this practice shows a total disregard for patients’ time.
