We might have just showed up on the wrong weekend, but this park is more of a party state park. We did not fit in or enjoy it that much. It was very crowded. The sites are on top of each other. One section is mobile homes where people seem to live at the park or rent them out. The marine was closed, with half of the boat slips half in the water. Trash everywhere. Our fire pit looked like a trash can. We got to see the state troopers more then the state park officers. One of the campers had a dog attack another dog. The bathhouses has no warm/hot water. The swim beach was nice but on the smaller side.nnIn short this park was one of if not the worst state park we have ever been to.nnBUT, the nearby parks are worth it. Mushroom state park and the Buffalo Track Canyon Nature Trail Head are worth the drives. I have left reviews about both if your interested in reading about them.nnWhile we did not stay at the Army Corps park across the lake, we did drive around it. I would recommend staying there instead.

The park was lovely. There are little ravines and rock faces that look amazing! There are some muddy areas and river crossings also.

Our favorite place for a drive...and to camp and swim, kayak and boat and fish, and enjoy campfires! Our home away from home!

The state should be commended on the seep stream. The work done for the trout program has made it into a great bluegill and bass stream as well.
