Don't start metering untill 9 am. So if you are working near by you can park here, assuming you start work at 7, you can park here untill 11 without concerns of receiving a ticket.nnThat being said I think it's rediculous how aggressive they are about writing up tickets. $5 each violation of the prohibited time period. I wouldn't be so frustrated with the fines if I hadn't looked up how much the city of Lawrence makes off these fines. 1.6 million annually. You would think they could afford heated walk ways, or overhead protection from the elements, maybe even a valet parker with that sort of income. What I wouldn't expect is such poor parking lots. Pot holes are mainly what I am referring to. Wouldnt you think if you made 1.6 million a year from fining people that are using the public street and parking that you would then invest that money in maintaining a respectable lot and roadways?nnTypical government waste.

Seriously? You want me to read a parking lot? No. Honestly, I don't remember. Pretty much they look alike.

Free for 2 hours.nIf it's busy downtown, then you will have a hard time finding a spot in this lot.nnThere is a walking path from this lot straight to Mass street.
