Oral Surgery Kansas

I have recently moved to Kansas from New Jersey, and it’s safe to say I was extremely nervous to find new offices and doctors for all my medical needs. The referral from Free State Dental (also an amazing office), to this office was extremely adjustable and pleasant. The cold “officey” feel I’m used to in the Northeast is not even comparable to the warm environment of the staff in these offices. They make you feel extremely comfortable and ready for your procedure. I was extremely nervous to get my wisdom teeth extracted but Dr. Neilson and his assistant (her name escapes me - very sweet) made sure I knew exactly what was going to happen, and they prepped my boyfriend well with after care. It is one day after my surgery and I am not even using my opiod prescription today for the pain, just over the counter aspirin for soarness. 10/10

Dr. Bell and the entire staff took great care of my daughter during her extractions. I cannot speak more highly of this practice! Thank you all!

WITHOUT A BEST DOUBT THE BEST ORAL SURGERY CARE IN KANSAS!!!!!nMy 17 yr old was in desperate need of having 4 wisdom teeth extracted... And to be honest, we originally scheduled her for an early September appointment, then I had gotten the flu. Since I was awaiting testing, I called & left a message to reschedule the appointment. I didn't receive a call back, so my husband went with our daughter instead. Unfortunately the appointment was cancelled & the 45min drive there was in vein. After receiving news from my daughter & husband, that the staff was pretty rude, I sought out other oral surgery facilities to perform the procedure for her. A month went by, my daughters pain got worse, for her wisdom teeth were pushing through with no room to grow (in other words her wisdom teeth were pushing her other teeth forward, inevitably causing them to overlap & effect her beautiful smile). I contacted childrens mercy & they don't even treat kids over 11... I contacted a facility in Leavenworth, which didn't take her insurance there, but they did have a joint facility in KCK that did. They only had consultation appointments available, which were not available until Feb of 2021...so I tried Truman medical center, but to be honest, after reading the reviews on the most recent patients... I decided to have a talk with my daughter & husband. I explained to them that regardless of how the receptionist staff made them feel the first visit, the nurses & surgeon weren't experienced during that visit. With that said, I suggested we go back to Lawrence Kansas Oral Surgery & I'M GRATEFUL WE DID. I literally called to reschedule the appointment on a Thursday, they got her in that following Monday. Not just the consultation, BUT BOTH THE CONSULTATION & SURGERY THE SAME DAY (I'm only emphasizing this because I called every oral surgeon in our insurance network & they are LITERALLY THE ONLY ONES IN THE KC AREA THAT CONSULT & DO SURGERY THE SAME DAY). This time I took our daughter, drove the 40 miles, paid tolls & a $25 copay... AND DURING MY TIME THERE, I EXPERIENCED NOTHING BUT KINDNESS!!! From the time we checked in at 1030 this morning till the time we left around a quarter to 1pm. Filled out paperwork, online prior to appointment, which was helpful. Got there, staff was friendly af (to note, my daughter did inform me that she did not see the receptionist that was rude to her & her father their prior visit)! They did the consultation, explained everything to such a great detail, as did the surgeon. The questions I did have to ask, Dr. Odom answered before I could ask. I FELT FELT SECURE IN KNOWING THAT MY BABY GIRL WOULD BE SAFE IN HIS CARE! Once the procedure was done, the nurse afterwards called me to update me on her progress. How she was waking up from sedation etc. Less then 10mins later, the nurse helped my daughter into the car, explained further aftercare instructions (even though they gave us an aftercare sheet upon check in). My daughter, although out of it a bit from the anesthesia, cried & thanked the nurse for her kindness. That should be the end of the review.... But naw.... The way I see it, until after we recover we're still the doctors patient...... To my surprise a few hours after we got home, we received a call from the surgeon, in regards to my daughter's post-op progress & symptoms. I informed him of her pain & he was honest & reassuring that what she was going through was normal. Just like with the surgery, I was reassured she'd be okay & honestly so far so good. I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS! IF YOU NEED ORAL SURGERY DONE IN THE STATE OF KANSAS, please don't play your self! GET IT DONE HERE!!!!

Had my wisdom teeth removed here and the staff and doctors are professional and caring! They call their patients each evening to make sure things are going well! Great customer service.

I can highly recommend this practice. Dr. Neilson and the entire staff were so kind and professional.
