My name is Cindy Myers. My daughter Sarah works there. I want to Thank You for taking the procedures to protect your employees. As a Mom, I was so relieved. Again, THANK YOU

I have a low opinion of the Lawrence public library that it is not reopening and they have no future date set to do so. I don't think it's about public safety but about the library and/or city wanting to saving money. There are too many places hiding behind the cova virus and not reopening or operating under restricted hours, when I think management really just wants to save money and not resume normal hours. I also think library management wants to keep the homeless out as long as possible and this is their excuse to do so. I'd like to know the number of people in Kansas/Douglas County who presently have this virus. Are there any? It's possible there is not.

Most beautiful, modern library to show off to your out of town guests. Great for community gatherings too. I used to play in the teen zone and now the kids get the best, free access to everything. I will never forget the old library but this is an amazing building in which to create happy memories. Their selection of books and media are great too, but my fiancé knows better than I do. I’m just here for the Merc coffee.

The building is beautiful. Wonderful views inside and out. Staff does a great job of keeping the peace, assisting patrons and maintaining the collection. If you want something you can't find there, the Inter-Library Loan dept can get it for you. Ask a staff member or look on the website. They also have a coffee shop right when you walk in. My only complaint is parking sucks. There are some free 2-hr spaces in the garage but they fill up quickly. Everything else is metered.

Overall a great place. Sometimes you’ll hear a flurry of excited kids, especially when the librarian yells out “story time!”nThose kids get more riled up than a coon dog trying to pass a peach seed when they hear those words echo throughout the building.
