Chris wore a mask the whole time and had everything completely clean and sanitized. That made us feel a lot more comfortable with traveling for the first time since the pandemic start. Chris made amazing breakfasts that were really more like brunches. And she even cooked delicious vegan breakfasts for my spouse and me which not everyone can do well.
I spent a wonderful week at the Engle House while doing research at the Eisenhower Presidential Library. The room was lovely, the bed was super comfortable, and the breakfasts were fantastic. The owners, Scott and Chris, are delightful and had wonderful recommendations for getting to know Abilene. They are the ultimate hosts.

Great history, wonderful host and lovely bed and breakfast. Rooms were clean and comfy and breakfast delish.nnlovelybed and breakfast.
STAY HERE! I would suggest this place to anyone coming to Abilene. Wonderful people, clean, comfortable and historical! Also, breakfast is great! We will definitely be stopping here whenever we have the chance.
