We were referred to Iowa ENT for EarWells for our newborn son. Dr. Young is the only physician in the metro area that provides this treatment and is truly the most knowledgeable one on his team when it comes to the devices. I was less than confident in his nursing staff's ability to properly place and make adjustments to the devices. After discussing our concerns with him, he was sure to check in with us and confirm that everything was satisfactory. Overall we had a positive experience with the clinic despite some bumps in the road along the way. Most importantly, we were able to avoid an invasive surgery in the future for our son thanks to Dr. Young and Iowa ENT Center.

I could not be more pleased with the care Dr. Young has provided to my infant son. When my son was 11 weeks old, I noticed that his ears were sticking out further than they had when he was born. After a quick Google search, I found a product called EarWells that treats ear deformities (including protruding ears) without surgery.nnI called Dr. Young’s office to have my son fitted for EarWells and was told that he exceeded the age limit of guaranteed results (they are less effective after 3 weeks of age). Thankfully, I was still able to book a consultation with Dr. Young.nnAlthough protruding ears are seen as a cosmetic issue later in life, insurance recognizes them as a birth defect when they are addressed on a newborn. Therefore, the EarWells were fully covered by insurance so I took a chance that they may still help my son (regardless of his age).nnWe are so pleased with the difference the EarWells made to my son’s ears.nnDr. Young not only changed my son’s life by reshaping his ears where he won’t be bullied because of them, but he also impacted my wallet because I won’t have to save up for an out-of-pocket surgery deemed “cosmetic” later in life.nnAlthough we are so grateful for our results, EarWells were definitely a process. The ear molds are fastened with adhesive, so there were times the tape loosened before our scheduled follow up exam. When that happened, I would simply call the office to let them know and I was always worked in to be seen that same day.nnAt times I felt like a “high maintenance patient” but I was never once treated that way. Instead, we were consistently greeted warmly and treated like we were the only patients there. The nurse would even take the time to meticulously apply rubbing alcohol to the EarWells to dissolve the adhesive before removing them from my son’s ears. This extra step made this as pain-free and gentle on my son’s skin as possible.nnI truly cannot say enough nice things about the level of care we experienced at Iowa ENT— I’m so grateful for the time, kindness, and results we received.nnDr. Young, thank you for changing my son’s life for the better. We are for-EAR-ver grateful for you.

Dr. Wright did my surgery for a thyroidectomy. It was the most horrible and painful experience I have ever experienced and I have had 3 shoulder surgeries! He could have cared less, never talked to me again. Dr. Wright didnt see me in recovery or even speak to me about my results or when I came in due to the severe pain in the back of my neck. He had horrible bedside manner and the office staff is rude.

Had a great experience here with Dr. Simplot. I can breathe (and sleep) so much better now.

Went in on recommendation from personal physician for inflammation in my throat and airway that was causing discomfort when I breathe. The doctor immediately went into recommending nasal surgery and never once commented on my throat until I forced the issue. Even at the end, when I was walking out the door he handed me a pamphlet on the recommend nasal surgery. Not a good first impression...
