Very old, small stadium. Very good for track - running. Good for field - jumps. Only throw in the stadium is shot put Other throws are in field just north of stadium. Very limited food - hot dogs, etc. For relays there are food choices in parking lot next door. Parking is a problem. So so venue for football - distance from stands to field. Not designed for soccer, but can be played there. Most seats are bleacher without seatbacks. Historic. Relays are the big event.
If you have not been here. Go! It's really neat to see in person. Its clean, fun and bright.
Drake stadium is a great place to watch high school soccer, college football, or practice soccer during summer soccer camp. It is a large facility that is clean and accessible. Go Riders! (and bulldogs).
Not enough handicap parking. We had to walk too far. Need & closer parking.
Haven't attended any track meets St Drake Stadium since 2001 after my Dad died the week before the 2002 Drake Relays. The changes made to Drake Stadium were amazing - it is an even better venue for hosting a major track meet like the 2018 and 2019 USATF Outdoor Meets! I have had a great time watching these tremendous athletes' run, jump and throw. Really anticipate attending future track meets at Drake Stadium!
