The staff here needs some extra training on 1st amendment rights. They clearly have no knowledge of it or how to deal with the public in a professional manner.

I witnessed the Communications Manager here actually shove a camera in a journalists face, simply because he was asking the staff for some information. Why? It's rude, condescending, and reeks of intimidation. Get a grip as something stinks here...

City hall does not seem to be aware of basic freedoms granted by the constitution. Very confrontational and rude to citizens. Does not believe in governmental transparency unless they control the narrative. Voters need to do something about this

The City of Des Moines spends there money in odd ways. Apparently they are trying to appeal to trendy millennials while ignoring the basic infrastructure. No wonder some nearby suburbs are the fastest growing in the nation.
