The lady at the front desk was quite pleasant and very attentive to all my questions at check in, the whole process went quickly. Room was clean, no cigarette or pet odors, bed was clean, pillow cases were questionable, but the lady gave me two more to replace. Accessable to food and other stores. I would stay there again.

Front desk people where great and helpful. Room was nice and cool. Only thing bad was the TV quit working about an 1/2 hr after we got there. The desk folk tried everything they could to fix it but no go. Would definitely stay there again.

Awesome couple running it, nice clean rooms, we will visit again, loved all her plants and how friendly they were. It was a wonderful end to a long day riding!

This place highly disappointed me during the Derecho storm that we had a few weeks ago. I went there to get a room since I lost power and was told by the lady at the front desk rooms were $100 a night. I said is that your regular price and she smiled and said well, during a time like this we are the only place that has available rooms. I said so basically you are price gouging during a time when there is a disaster? She had the nerve to chuckle and said well it's because we are the only ones with availability due to the storm. I told her no thanks and went across 1st street to the motel across from Tires Plus in Ankeny and went in and was told yes they had rooms at they were $55 a night. I booked 4 nights and told the nice man thanks for not taking advantage of a disaster. I was so mad I went back to motel 8 just as she was about to take advantage of another customer but this time I asked the guy what is she saying your cost is per night and he told me $165 a night. I told him don't book here she is price gouging asked her for her name and she said we can't give that out. I told the guy what she was going to charge me and his mouth dropped. Within 10 minutes time she had raised the price from $100 a night to $165. Then another couple came in and I let them know about the place up the street. The woman at Motel 8 is a scammer and in a time of disaster she was taking advantage of people in need. I have reported this motel to BBB and am waiting for the Attorney general to get back to me about filing a complaint. This was despicable what she was doing at a time when people were in need and price gouging is illegal I told her in which she didn't seem to care. This will be the last place I ever go even if it really is the last open motel. She lied about that as well by the way. Beware of this motel.

I stayed at the hotel for a week to start, and although I paid for every night it was worth it. The rooms were clean the customer service was remarkable and the beds were very comfortable. Not only did they have breakfast but I could control my own heat. After a great stay i ended up stay for a full month. Nothing fancy but clean, comfortable budget motel. Would definitely recommend here.
