Pure Salon and Spa

I have been coming to Pure Salon & Spa for 4+ years now. I'm always greeted so nicely and offered a beverage. They were very easy to work with when I decided to bring my entire bridal party plus more to get hair and makeup done for my wedding. All my family and friends were very impressed. I love the peppermint oil massages, jewelry cleaning, and paraffin hand wax they offer. It truly is a spa experience when you go to get your haircut. I always get a brow wax while there also and even that is enjoyable! Sara is the best and always styles my hair how I want after the cut as well. I love the smell of the salon and the volumizing tonic is a must for a product! Overall, it's a very welcoming and pleasant experience, every time!

Pure Salon and Spa is simply Amazing! When you are greeted, the staff are warm and welcoming, making sure you start off with a great customer service experience! My stylist Carly is always prompt, professional, friendly, and starts off her visit with asking how I am doing. She listens to my questions and provides her years of experience in giving me the best appointment possible. She pampers me, making me feel super relaxed and helps me unwind from my busy day! I look forward to my appointments because of Carly, Pure’s clean atmosphere, the quality of products used on my hair, and the way I feel every single time I walk out of there! I highly recommend Pure Salon and Spa to anyone who is looking for a lifelong salon that will never disappoint! Thank you! You are sensational!!

Pure Salon is absolutely amazing. My stylist Victoria is a fine hair whisperer and their entire staff is the most professional I’ve ever seen. They have taken the most impressive and comforting measures against COVID and they still manage to make you feel great in the process. Simply the best quality experience you can find. And once we are back from the pandemic, we will get our hand scrubs and other nice touches back. Can not recommend them enough.

I have been visiting Pure for almost 10 years. I began during high school and even drove back to Ankeny during college because I loved this salon so much. However, my experiences DRASTICALLY changed this year.nn1) In Feb, I got a regular facial (I got their facials at least every other month and loved them). However, I had a new staff member and my skin became inflamed and red DURING the facial. In the weeks after, my skin was extremely red and would not heal. I visited a dermatologist and was told that my skin had essentially gotten burnt by the facial. I called the front desk multiple times to speak to management and was told I would have a callback but never heard from anyone. I told my hair stylist at my next appt in March and she graciously apologized even though my skin had healed and she was not responsible for it. I decided to keep coming back for my hair appointments and did not do another facial.nn2) Prior to my August appointment, I woke up feeling ill and decided to call the front desk to cancel my appointment due to COVID and not wanting to risk getting others sick (22 hours in advance). The receptionist was extremely rude and not sympathetic. She essentially told me that they have clients who are waiting for appointments and that I would need to sign a “cancellation policy form” at my next visit because they require 24 hours notice. I understood that this is important but in our current times, I would hope that they would not encourage ANY guest or staff member to visit their salon if they are feeling sick, even if it was right before their appointment. I cancelled my appointment and rescheduled on the phone for the following week.nn3) The next week within 24 hours of my appointment, a different receptionist called me to tell me that my hairstylist was “no longer with the salon” and that I needed to reschedule with another staff member. I asked how long my former stylist had been gone and the receptionist confirmed that she left the salon prior to the day that I cancelled my appointment when I felt sick, so the previous receptionist did not even bother to mention that during my call and I would have shown up to someone random doing my hair.nnI hate to leave such a poor review but I am extremely saddened with how this salon has gone from a one of a kind, extremely caring and professional salon to this. I am not sure if management changed or what happened but it’s unacceptable. Needless to say that I will not be returning and would not encourage anyone to do so.

Very nice staff , courteous they try their best to be safe during pandemic . The services are awesome and I love my stylist and my cut and color . Highly recommend this business it’s the worth the drive for me from Clive .
