We have been attending this church since we moved to Grand Forks more than two years ago. I can't even put into words how wonderful the members were and are in fellowshipping and welcoming us (especially being a multi-racial family and having a child with disabilities).nnThe Church teaches how to become like our Savior Jesus Christ and what we can do In this life to prepare to live with those we love, as well as our Savior in the next. I am so grateful for this building and church to be able to worship freely in. Hopefully we can all worship together again soon!

I thought I would inform others of how me and my child were treated at this church. I will first start off by saying the children of the church are not welcoming at all to new children. Before their service started, me and my child sat in the hallway where a group of kids were playing, not once did any of the children walk over to my child to say hi or invite her over to play. I noticed them staring over at her, and whispering amongst each other and every so often laughing. I didn't like that. It brought back childhood memories from my experience with Jesus Christ of latter day saints in Missouri, where the kids in my childhood treated me the same way as these kids treated my child. And what surprised me the most about this church in Grand forks was how the only other black child that was huddled in the group of white children also played along in laughing and whispering about my child who is also black. I just blame the parenting of these children for not raising them right. Cliquish parents breed cliquish children. As for how I was treated I would say the adults were no different then how the kids treated my child. I just felt very unwelcome there. The vibe was not right. And the person I got a ride from had an adopted black child who didn't seem too happy with us riding with them. When I spoke to the little girl she did not speak back and rolled her eyes and put her head down the whole ride there. The child didn't even want to scoot over for my child to sit down. I will never in my life take a ride from someone who's kid acts in that manner. The kid didn't speak to my daughter either . It was very weird. the city where I'm from black kids stuck together and make each other feel welcome. It was unusual to see this adopted black child who had white adoptive parents treat the white kids better then she treats a child of her own color. It's a very sad thing to witness and see. We have not been back and don't intend on going back. I want a church home that makes me and my child feel welcome and makes me want to come back every week. I have found a community Christian Church where my child actually has a close friend that goes there that she also attends school with that we will start going back to. At least I know my child will have someone there that makes her feel accepted. Unlike your Mormon church. Hope my post help future guests in the future. Your church needs to work with your children on acceptance and how to greet new children without excluding them.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is taught here by volunteers who love the Lord and are doing their best to try to be like Him. Not one of us is perfect, but that's what Jesus Christ's mission is all about; healing the sick, strengthening the weak, changing the hearts of men.nnI, personally, am able to feel my Savior's love for me as I attend services and partake of the Sacrament in remembrance of Him.nnIn an effort to help everyone stay safe and healthy, services during the pandemic are shortened and there is less fellowshipping happening within the building itself. It will be so wonderful to be able to worship and learn together like usual again someday (hopefully soon!).

Always welcoming to any and all. Don't have to be invited nor a member to attend any of their Sunday worship services. Just walk in and introduce yourself. Open to all who love Christ or want to learn more about the Savior of the world.

I'm so grateful for this church! I visited it for the first time this Sunday and I felt very welcomed and the spirit of God was so strong there, especially when I took the sacrament to remember Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for me. I live in Crookston MN, but the drive is well worth it!
