Traveling through and hit a deer. The deputy was super nice and helpful.

We moved to the area in mid December. In early January our security system had a faulty motion sensor in the basement, which caused an alarm while we were away from home for several hours. Since we couldn't get home very quickly, our monitoring service notified the Sheriff's office. A friend who lives nearby, and happened to be working from home that day, also stopped by to make sure everything was ok. There were two deputies who responded to the alarm. They were thorough in looking around the house (in the knee-deep snow) and inside to be sure everything was fine. Our friend said they were very professional, friendly, and helpful. They responded very quickly, as well. We couldn't ask for better service. They were also helpful during the building process, when our builder noticed people loitering around his equipment trailer at an odd time (he uses cameras to keep an eye on his equipment, having had things stolen now and then). He gave them a call and they responded quickly. Luckily, nothing was taken. We are very thankful for our Sheriff's office and the risks they take to keep everyone safe. They help to make this a wonderful place to live.

Never been treated so poorly in my life. Couldn't even get toilet paper or my meds when I was supposed to. I realize an as an inmate I'm subjected to different standards but not being able to wipe or take my dr prescribed meds is just disgusting. For shame Madison County. Your inmates are still human beings and deserve that kind of respect.

Winterset has always had a great police force. Everyone that lives here r very proud of our guys.
