Best library I’ve never been to! My favorite author of all time used to read (and write, presumably) here, and I can’t wait to see inside this historic institution some day.

University of Iowa Main Library. It has many study areas. 5 floors of books, study areas and computers. I am not a student or staff member so I signed up for the community card mostly because I want to use the Art Library and I filled out the form online, presented my id and picked up the library card here at the main library. One benefit of looking at their online catalog here is access to some ebooks found only online. I cannot access them from home since I’m not a student or staff. You need a hawk id to view them off of their system.nParking here is nonexistent. Students wander the streets often stepping in front of moving traffic in and away from crosswalks trying to get from place to place. The Cambus the free campus bus stops right there so if you live close by that would be a good choice. I do not so I parked south of the building a few blocks down and used metered street parking that allowed up to 10 hours.nThey have a snack shop with coffee and soda and snacks.nThe service desk was fast and efficient. I had to call in about my card and they were very friendly and helpful.

Excellent study and reading place! plenty of rooms, coaches, tables, desks and public use computers which makes you willing to study for long hours. The downstairs level have food cafeteria which give the din of the coffee shop, also there is several groups meeting and conformance rooms and areas in addition to the recording studio. if you are looking for quit place you can go to upper levels or reserve a privet study room. All in all it has all of what your need for studding place.

Can't hold a candle to the library at the University of Illinois. Forget about resources, researching or studying. It's usually occupied by inebriated college students making a racket. A professor from the University of Illinois temporarily teaching at Iowa called this library a phone booth.
