My chairs turned out beautifully and so did my lamps

This guy’s an artisan, not a repairman. He has serious depth of knowledge and he cares about furniture. When he told me he was trained by a guy who does museum work I wasn’t surprised. Are you going to wait? Probably. And when he gets to your thing he’ll do a serious job and probably undercharge you because he’s thinking in 1990 dollars and doesn’t want to be unfair. No, he doesn’t have enough backup labor, because he’s not running a factory there, but the apprentice I’ve met was similarly serious and obviously knowledgeable.nnI don’t know how to get across how unusual it is to have a guy like this around. There are a few places in the country where you’ll find a bunch who do work like he does, and your kids won’t be going to college after they’re done billing you. But no matter where you are, you’re probably going to wait. Along those lines: if your furniture’s not so great, don’t get upset because he’s not slotting you in ahead of a piece that actually needs his level of attention. If your furniture is pretty great, know that he’ll give it real respect, will tell you clearly about his limits, and will not let you leave without showing you any areas that he’s not fully satisfied with himself. You will almost certainly not care about them, if indeed you can see them, but you’ll know.nnI should add that he really does need to charge more. That’s a semi-painful thing for me to say, because if he charged what he ought to get paid, I couldn’t afford him. It’s true, though.

The Little Shop was awesome. They restored my old Tiffany style lamp. It's more beautiful now than when I first got it. Nice professional job - reasonable prices. Thank you Gary & Sean.

Finally found the perfect caretakers who restored a small wicker desk bought for me by my grandfather for $.25 more years ago than I want to tell!nnIt is beautiful again - dozens of repairs made flawlessly, the piece cleaned and repainted to perfection. I appreciated the care taken in every step, from cleaning away the decades of dust from storage, to painstaking replacement of wicker in the many holes and intricate designs, and finding the perfect paint to return the desk to pristine condition for passing on to my granddaughter. Until she is old enough to have a place for it - I will enjoy using it for several years.nnThanks to Gary and crew for all the care taken, and for listening to my reminiscences of Grandpa's workshop. The Little Shop is a magic and special place!
