You know, I would love to give this place five stars, but I can't. I ordered the seafood Alfredo with a salad. The server was great. The bathrooms were clean. And that was where things went downhill. We received a basket of stale Italian bread, heels and end pieces tossed haphazardly into a basket. Real butter was included and a plus. The menu mentions the pasta is from Italy. That's great unless you haven't a clue how to cook it. A restaurant boasting about their Italian roots should be able to cook perfect aldente pasta. It was a starchy, mushy and stuck together and the sauce didn't help loosen it up. There were tiny scallops, may have came from a can. And three shrimp that were cooked nicely. And of course there was a healthy sprinkle of dried parsley all over everything. So I won't be stopping there again anytime soon.
My wife and kids went on a Saturday night and wondered why it wasn't more full. We figured out the upstairs also had seating but they didn't serve the pasta dishes up there. All the food we had was good, the servings were huge, and the staff was very nice. We would definitely go back.
Great food
Amazing place!! Best authentic Italian cuisine in the cedar Valley. Friendly wait staff and classic building that feels genuine. Highly recommend!!
A wonderful place to eat, the Food is absolutely Amazing, I was born here in Oelwein many years ago, I Knew Nick Leo the previous Owner, he was a very hard-working man and Made the best Pizza in the World, his son has learned from his father and Has Made Leo's Restaurant even better than ever, and his seafood Alfredo is absolutely Wonderful, and his home made bread is irresistible.
