I was seen in the emergency room by Dr.Estrada Guillermo on May 2 2016. I had severe shaking. I was told to take Clonazepam (a schedule 4 drug) not by Dr. Estrada but by the attending emergency room D.O. Bryant R. Beehler. I couldn't find that D.O. Beehler had a license to practice in ND. Come to find out, I had symptoms of hypomagnesemia but was not treated for it. Since I was only taking one drug, Furosemide, it should have been checked as a possible drug that created my symptoms. Of course D.O. Beehler is not a medical doctor. As his name is on the Clonazepam prescription, he should have checked my symptoms against the Furosemide side effects. In reality it was Dr. Guillermo that requested the drug. As he actually prescribed the drug, he should have checked my records. Upon discontinuing Furosemide my original shaking conditions have ceased. My alternative health experts call this condition Hypomagnesemia. I can't help but think that I could have become a drug addict or worse, taking a schedule 4 drug for the effects of a previous drug I was taking. I find this inexcusable doctoring. I believe the VA should make it mandatory for Doctors and D.O. persons to sign off that they checked the side effects of drugs currently taken. In my case it was only one drug and a no brainer.
