Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

I just want to share a story with you about something that happened at Freddie’s in Dubuque Iowa and a wonderful employee named Alyssa.nnMy father in laws funeral was yesterday. We invited my mother in law to dinner last night after a long and stressful day. She said she wanted to be alone and would just pick something up for herself through a drive through.nnShe went to Freddie’s.nnShe placed her order at the drive up and pulled forward. When she reached into her purse for her wallet she could not find it. She realized she had left it on her kitchen table. There were cars in front of her and behind her so she could not leave the line. When she pulled up at the window she explained to the girl at the drive up window that she did not have her wallet and apologized, but would not be able to buy the food she ordered. She said she would go home, get her wallet, and come back, but the girl said not to worry about it and gave her the food anyway. My mother in law watched her pull money out of her own pocket and pay for the food. My mother in law asked for her name and when she would be working next so she can repay her, which she will do tomorrow when Alyssa works again.nnWhat an extraordinary thing for a young person to do.nnI called the store manager today to share this story and express my gratitude, but I also wanted to post this story so that others can know how kindness can change one of the worst days in a persons life to one that also had a bright spot.nnThank you Alyssa!

Best hamburgers in Dubuque. The custard is awesome too. I love Freddys because the food is hot and fresh. You don't get that at the other hamburger fast food restaurants
