I’m writing this review as awareness to others.nnI went in for a routine cleaning and X-rays as well as a consultation for an implant I needed the abutment and crown completed for. The staff was really nice for the most part and the hygienist and dentist were both friendly and professional.nnThe problem began when the dentist told me that I needed fillings on the teeth on either side of the implant tooth. This somewhat made sense, because the tooth I had removed had got infected. However, normally when I’ve needed fillings in the past, the dentist would go over the x-rays and explain where there were issues. None of this took place, instead, the office was focused on getting me prepared for the fillings immediately after my cleaning. This seemed unusual and disrespectful to my schedule, I didn’t have an extra 2 hours for the fillings on that day. Further, when I asked for specific cost breakdowns of the fillings, abutment and crown, I was given 1 number. No breakdown or explanation of what insurance was expected to cover. When I pressed them further, they became evasive about what the cost breakdowns would be and that insurance “may or may not” pay. For the record, I’ve never had issues with fillings and crowns covered when the correct filing protocols are followed with insurance. It seemed like they had no interest in providing thorough documentation and reasoning for what they planned to bill to insurance. Instead, they were very focused on collecting the payment for services they had not yet provided. Also, this number changed multiple times over a short time period as I pointed out areas where they were attempting to charge me a fee that was above the negotiated fee my insurance company allowed. My suspicion is that they do not care if insurance pays, because then they can throw their hands up in the air, blame it on insurance, AND charge you a much higher fee. At this point, I decided to leave the office and get a second opinion from another dentist.nnThey sent my X-rays to the dentist I was able to see today. I went over the same work that I was told I needed. In examining the X-rays and walking me through each tooth, the dentist was able to determine that I did not need those 2 fillings. There was one tooth that looked suspicious on the X-ray, but when examining it closer, the dentist was able to determine this was simply a rough area/ridge on the tooth. At this point, I am very happy that I got a second opinion and was given explanation on the work actually needed. I am glad there are dentists that do care about their patient’s teeth and keeping their best interests at heart. Unfortunately, I do not think this office has your best interests at heart.nnFinally, in researching this office further, I discovered that the practice owner has been the subject of several malpractice lawsuits. I would advise anyone looking to go here to do their research and force transparency from them, otherwise you will be taken advantage of.

Always a pleasure to visit Plaza Dental; I moved away from St Louis two years ago and I still drive four hours to make an appointment (so worth it)!

My experience at Ideal was awesome! The dental assistant Kevyon is always friendly and does a good job at calming me with great attitude and energy before my work is done. The dentist was very experienced and did each procedure without causing me any pain. Brooke Shields was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions and concerns. Thank you all for another great visit.

This office was so beautiful and clean. The staff was friendly and warm. I never felt rushed and all my needs were addressed. The dentist had great bedside manner and was very informative. I would highly recommend!
