I took my 7 year old into see Van Hofwegen SR. This was my sons first time at the dentist. He was nervous, and the nurse was being aggressive during the xray. After, while the dentist examined him, the nurse was verbally starting to reprimand my son for being nervous and somewhat evasive. I was trying to calm him but because of the nurse, he began to cry out of fear. I requested to the dentist, very politely, that I would like a different nurse that might be better at dealing with young children. The dentist then told me, if we didn't let this nurse help us, he wouldn't work on my son. I decided that it was better to leave, than risk my son fearing the dentist from that point forward. As I was exiting the office, the receptionist tried to charge us an office visit even though no work had been done nor any diagnosis made. I paid the xray bill, but told them I refused to pay the office visit on grounds that he hadn't even fully examined my son. After a back and forth with the office manager, they agreed to drop the fee. We went directly over to the children's clinic, my son did very well, and we fixed the issue with no problems. I will not be returning to Van Hofwegen, even for myself ever again.
