The cottage is very quaint. It is hard to believe 2 adults and 3 children lived in only two rooms, but that is how Herbert Hoover began his life.nnI like how the home is furnished. It really immersed our family in the late 1800's era and helped the children understand the Quaker way of life.nnI wish that there were some plaques or fact sheets inside of the home to explain the items in the house. Maybe something about day-to-day life, the importance of the cast iron stove, and the history of the various furniture inside the house. I am also not sure if the house is original and in its original place or if it is just a reproduction. I know from the historic site museum that they said some houses were recreated according to the recollections of older townspeople, but I wish they had more of an explanation.nnOverall, it is a very interesting historic home. We enjoyed our visit very much.
