Dropped off some books to donate to their Friends of the Library. Then picked up the book to read for the book club I am in at the library. Good service and friendly. Been going for years.

A place where it rivals its next town neighbor, the Rockville Public Library, this library (along Main St.) truly carries a lot of historic elements that define the period of the expansion of America's modern public libraries. This library shall not be credited to Andrew Carnegie for bringing in a public library to the town of Ellington. It is known as the Hall Memorial Library. This library is dedicated to the three Hall brothers who supported the libraries.nnIf you walk inside, through the main entrance, you will notice that they have a lot to offer on loan at this LIBRARY. They have a cool selection of books that include mysteries, cookbooks, & more. Strangely, in the audiovisual section, they have Children's films that won't be found in the Children's room. How odd?!? Well, at least there's a cool, bright selection of movies targeted to children in front of the main library department.nnTowards the east end of this addition to the library (expanded not even 50 years ago!), is a space dedicated to the Young Adults/Teen room.nnNext, you go along the path to the Reference Room, and you'll see that it was once the part of the ORIGINAL library that has been there since its opening in 1903. Sure, there's a REFERENCE desk, and some of these books but there's a lot more there. In one room to your left, there's a collection of audiovisuals. The main left side of the Reference Room leads you to the original side of the library (with the fireplace intact). How cool (and well kept) is it?nnThen, if you walk upstairs (the original stairway), there's a lot more. A set of stain glass truly brings to mind. These represent the lives of three Hall brothers who built this library.nnAlso, on the other side of the upper stairway leads you to the Children's room. It's not really a historical Children's room but it's somehow modern but well kept.nnI go to this library every once in a while to borrow some books not found at my hometown library. This is an awesome, out-of-town library to me, considering it's a historical library, right on Main Street.

We go here a lot and they have a great movie, book and kid’s section. As an added bonus their Harry Potter summer has been a blast for the kids!
