I usually go here for my alcohol purchases in the past. They always have a great selection. Today my friend dropped me off and went to Starbucks since we knew the line would be super long. After I spent almost 30$ on a bottle of tequila I went outside to wait for my friend to get her Starbucks. I was there not even five minutes. I sat in the shade and minded my business. I was completely sober and not speaking with anyone. The employee came out and told me I have to leave because I was “loitering” and that I wasn’t allowed to be out front. I wasn’t directly in front of the store I was on the side and literally waiting for my friend to come back. I was not consuming alcohol or causing a scene. I am an educated professional individual. I have never loitered in my life. I was offended and honestly my feelings were hurt. She wasn’t very nice about it either. Hopefully that employee will learn some manners and treat your customers better. She didn’t even give me an explanation and she ignored me as I tried to speak with her.

Be careful. Right in front of the registers, there is a display. If you are even a little distracted, and because of the masks we are all wearing, you may not be able to see things on the floor. That may cause you to trip. Everything else is, as always, fine.

I’ve been going to purchase alcohol from this liquor store since I moved to Groton. It’s close to home which makes it very convenient and they always have something that I am looking for HOWEVER .. as stated I’ve been purchasing alcohol from this liquor store for months but TODAY I walked in as I would any other day to get some different things to try for the holiday weekend when they refused to let me purchase the alcohol due to an expired ID the same ID they’ve always checked and the same one I’ve been required to use during the COVID-19 situation since you can not go to renew these types of documents. As the person next to me was only ASKED if they were 21 no ID was checked I was SHOCKED. Shocked because I have been purchasing alcohol for months with MY ID just fine. Nothing has changed my name is on all of my cards the same as my ID etc. I will not be going back and I won’t recommend anyone to go here any longer. I’m truly disgusted
