I've been a client of Al's going on 12 years now. One thing I'll say about Al Smith is that he tells it how it is. Some folks may not like that, but I appreciate it when he tells me I don't need something even at the expense of his commission. And he saved me a boatload of cash on my homeowners insurance without me even asking! The last advisor I went to tried to get me to move my retirement into all kinds of fancy annuities with high fees which I'm sure would go straight into his pocket. Bunch of gimmicks if you ask me. Al has been managing my Roth IRA for years and I don't plan on moving it anytime soon.

I've been a client of Al's for over 15 years and have had nothing but good experiences. Allen is always honest and upfront with me and advises me on what's best for me, rather than what would get him the biggest commission. He actually called me out of the blue once because he came across a deal that saved me $700 per year on auto insurance. I'm surprised to see bad reviews...like the other reviewer said it sounds like these Met customers aren't clients of Al's so I'm not sure why they thought he would be able to help them.

I disagree with other reviewers. Allen Smith has been with the company for 40 years. He is very professional and very knowledgeable. He is not pushy at all like other agents or financial planners. It sounds to me like the other reviews are more of a complaint about a big company. Allen services his clients very well but can’t service ANY client who calls or walks through the door. That is not how it works.

I went to the closest Metlife agent for a simple copy of my insurance card. After getting the insurance by internet and phone. They were at a loss and couldn't figure out how to do a simply task. Then the agent Smith Allen said they couldn't do anything because I didn't get my insurance through them. I called Metlife gave them the E-mail had it sent to the Secretary's E-mail had to hide outside the office to get my paper work. The agent is unprofessional and shouldn't be a part of a good insurance company.

Rude,rude,rude. They have no idea what policies my late father in law has. We have 4different policy numbers and everyone I talked to since his passing, can't give us the info and keep charging him for a place he sold in 2011 and then tried to only refund 1 year. RUDE RUDE RUDE. I even tried to go to the office to talk to them but they wouldn't even help then either..
