Where should I start? Axel's work is top quality -- but that is not what sets him apart from other contractors. Axel is very responsive, polite and courteous. He was able to budget our job, determine the materials we’d need, advised us on what would and wouldn’t look good and gave us a realistic timeline to complete the job.nnWhen it was all done, he came in under budget and two days ahead of schedule. 18 months after he completed the job, I’m happy to report that our two bathrooms look as good as the day he finished them. His work more than stands the test of time.nnI can’t recommend Axel enough -- he’s just terrific.

I had been looking to remodel my basement for a few years now. Last year, I contacted a few companies for an estimate. When I met Axel Pepin, the owner of VIP Remodeling, to discuss the scope of the work and what I was looking for, he was very courteous and professional. During our meeting, he took down some measurements of my unfinished basement and wrote down exactly what I was looking for with the remodel. Axel answered any questions I had during his initial visit.nnA few days later, he sent me a very detailed written proposal for the work listing all costs such as permits, labor, materials and debris removal. At the time, I mentioned to Axel I would think about his proposal and get back to him with any questions. I shopped around and even contacted one the major companies in the basement remodel industry. After a more than a 2 hour sales pitch from the so-called pros, their estimate was way above my price range. Even after a one time discount, their quote was not affordable for my wife and I. I also felt I was being taken for a ride.nnAfter a few more estimates from other companies, my wife and I were tired of the sales pitch so we decided to go with Axel. There was no sales pitch from Axel. His pricing was very aggressive, and I felt he was honest and there were no hidden costs. After agreeing to the terms of the remodel and signing a contract, I made the first payment. Soon after, Axel came onsite and started the work. The work was done in stages from the framing, to the insulation, to putting up blue board (sheet rock), to the painting, adding baseboard heaters, to the flooring, etc... There was also inspection of the work done and it passed with flying colors. The work took about 5-6 weeks with Axel and his team working at least 6 days a week. During the process, he was responsive to my emails and text messages.nnI would recommend Axel and his team in a heartbeat for his professionalism, honesty, and quality work.nnThanks again, Axel for the work you did with my basement.
