Time for writing about Lincoln.
Great campus to walk around for a few hours and much prettier than Harvard. The buildings look like a horde of academics took over a horde of churches and converted them into lecture halls and dorms. Love the actual ivy growing on many of the buildings here. Far fewer squirrels on this campus as compared to the rest of the Ivy League. In fall 2020 it looks like Yale is using the pandemic as an opportunity to do a lot of maintenance to the buildings; a bunch have construction work going on.
One of the less commonly known fact about Yale University is that Yale happens to be the city's (New Haven) largest employer. That fact to one side New Haven has a very diverse economy with many SMLE’s. Obviously healthcare, financial services, retail trade and professional services can be found in abundance by Yale is probably the most iconic institution in town and rightly so. Can you believe Yale is 319 years old (9 October 1701), Harvard University is slightly older at 384 years but still that’s pretty well established? Mind you Cambridge University (UK) wins the age game at 811 years. Still Yale Uni is up there as one of the best Universities in the world. Rightly so.
The town is coming back. Gorgeous day. Popped into LL Bean. Checked the Apple store. Ate at Clare's.
Yale is one of a kind place. It's not as good as Harvard, but people will still be impressed that you went here. The pizza is best in the world and the location geographically can't be beat if you're a high achiever. People of all stripes wander about the campus as if they are part of the community. How endearing! Also, Yale has some of the few books in the world bound in human flesh. What crazy wizardry is going on here, exactly? Nobody knows!
