Went to Vanity Fair. Sorry to see it will be closing. But did get a few good buys due to the discounts. Then went to Oshkosh. Found some cute clothes there for my grandson at reasonable prices.nWas with my sister. She did purchase more than me at Oshkosh, but less at Vanity Fair. She was very pleased with her purchases also.nNO crowds at stores that still exist.

This outlet mall has great potential but can not compete with other rea shopping centers. There a re a handful of stores from national brands. The once store worth going for is the Wrangler and Lee jeans outlet. They have some good deals on quality casual and work wear for men and women.

On our most recent visit to the Westbrook Outlets, we were saddened by the number of empty storefronts. I have been coming here, since these outlets first opened, and always enjoyed the selection of stores. Many of the stores that I looked forward to going in, were gone. Although it is a beautiful, meticulously maintained property, with interesting outdoor displays of a steam locomotive and even a sail boat, and is a very pleasant place to visit (clean, well manicured, beautiful landscaping, piped-in music throughout the property, etc.) it really did not feel like a shopping experience, at all. Corningware Store, gone! Reebok Store, gone! Timberland Store, gone! The list goes on and on! The cinemas seem to still be closed, due to Covid! I kept walking around, hoping to find that a few of the stores possibly moved to a different location, within the outlet complex, as stores sometimes do, thinking that the directories had not yet been updated, but no such luck! I would say that this complex is down to half, or slightly less than half of the amount of stores that once occupied the space. Since it’s a pretty sprawling shopping center, that’s a lot of walking, for the amount of empty space, in-between the few stores that remain. I did enjoy browsing around William Sonoma, but for an outlet store, the prices are ridiculously high, with almost no sales, discounts, or bargains to be found! I really wanted to give Westbrook more stars, because it is truly an aesthetically beautiful shopping center, however, it is becoming a ghost town. I realize that Covid and online shopping have taken their toll on retail. I’m hoping this place sees some sort of significant resurgence in the near future. Unfortunately, for now, there really is no reason for us to make the trip.
