Essex park was a great place to relax in. There are picnic tables and many benches. You can eat here at the picnic tables, as many people do. There was almost always someone here with their dogs, which are allowed. It is waterfront and it has a dock to pull up on with a boat. The trees are spread out and really tall. It feels enclosed. There is even a map of all the trees.
Returned to visit after 45 years. The added plants and the gazebo made it so much prettier. Met a great woman and her friend who were eating lollipops in the gazebo and struck up a friendship. Now that's how a park should be, beautiful and friendly.
It was beautiful weather this Sunday, but it wasn't crowded. So serene under the large trees and most of them have been ID tagged, so it's even educational.
Nice view full of nice people!
Nice park to just chill. In the middle of downtown Essex for relaxing after a walk and shopping.
