A beautifully preserved federalist style stone church in a rural setting- there are very few Congregational churches in CT of that era made in stone. There are some in brick along the border such as in Sharon, or in Darien along the coast, dating from within 5 years, however cut stone is a rarity unless one goes west towards the Dutch and some Quaker meetinghouses in fieldstone. The datestone says 1824 but it may have been begun earlier, depending on when it was finished being paid for, as in those days the custom was that it could only be consecrated after the building was out of its initial debt. But local historians could tell you more, for sure! Drive by and see for yourself!
