Apple Rehab

After a horrible experience at another local rehab I decided to bring my mother to Orchard Grove. The reviews were good and the staff was very friendly over the phone so my initial impression was very good. The facility seemed clean. However, there was no air conditioning in the main areas of OG in AUGUST! The ac remained broken for my mother's entire 18 day stay. Little did I know that the staff does not communicate well with doctors, nurses, therapists or family members. Getting the entire team on the same page was harder than pulling teeth. Even one of the CNAs told me that she would never bring her parents to Apple Rehab or especially Orchard Grove. The social worker, Sarah, was little to no use. They did not even effectively set up my mother's at Home Medical Equipment before she went home. She went for 2 days with no nutrition through her feeding tube even though she is 74 pounds and yet that was completely acceptable. The head nurse, Phyllis is nothing more than a paper weight and will do no good in helping address issues or effectively communicating with team members. The paperwork was supposed to have been processed since I had made it clear that I was able to pick my mother up at 3:30 p.m. on the day of discharge I could not even leave the facility until 5 p.m. because no one on the staff processed her paperwork even though I had planned the discharge with the team 6 days in advance. I will never return to Orchard Grove or any other Apple Rehab Facility for that matter and it makes me sad since the location is convenient for me to get to and from work for visits. How Orchard Grove handled my mother's case was incredibly disappointing and I don't wish this mistreatment on anyone's parent.
