Salute is known for having the best Italian food in downtown Hartford and it did not disappoint! Salute has a dining room, bar area, and if it is nice out there is outdoor seating on a patio. Salute is known for its garlic bread, which is cheesy and amazing. It is a must try!nnI ordered the pasta vodka with chicken and it was different than any pasta vodka I had ever had before. It had broccoli, sundried tomatoes, and feta cheese, which added nice dimensions of flavor. I don't know if I what I ate I would consider pasta vodka, but it was still tasty. When you order chicken with your pasta, let me tell you they must have given me at least an entire chicken breast. The chicken was nicely cooked and really filled you up.nnMy friend ordered the hanger steak with a gorgonzola béchamel. I would recommend her dish over mine. Many times when you get gorgonzola on a steak it can be overpowering. However the gorgonzola béchamel was very creamy and had a subtle blue cheese flavor that complimented the steak perfectly. The steak was tender. I normally am a filet mignon girl, but if I went to Salute again I would definitely get the hanger steak.nnAs a nice touch, they give all customers complimentary to go biscotti with their check. The biscotti tasted a bit like a sugar cookie to me. I was still eating my biscotti a few days after visiting Salute and it was fresh.
