This is my favorite park nearby my GF's place. We drive all over to find great hiking in CT. Sometimes we just want to go someplace nearby though. This place is perfect. It's a mile or so loop around a very pretty lake. It seems well maintained. There are gorgeous rock that can be found jutting out into the water and a few large enough to sit on to just relax. I always see people fishing but never see anyone catch anything. I have found some mushrooms there but none I would eat.
Great place to spend time with the family, have a picnic on a nice day. It has five man-made lakes, nice scenery...

A very nice walk. Plenty of nature and some decent fishing if you are so inclined.
Local small trail (a mile loop) that goes around Mondo Pond and its five man-made ponds. You can walk, bike, bird watch, or fish!nnParking is available at JFK school (when school is not in session), Subway World Headquarters, and Naugatuck Avenue.nnScenery: There’s a fair amount of trees throughout most of the trail which is great way to get your miles in during summer heat. Bring your binoculars!nnUPDATE: The city of Milford actually states because it’s a nature preserve you cannot bring your dog or bike through the trail.
