I get my haircut 3-4 times per year here. Great prices and students are always nice to deal with. But the instructors could be more professional. When I walked in exactly on time for my haircut this morning I was greated by a lovely lady at the front desk to check in. My stylist was not there waiting for me as soon as I walked in which was not a problem for me at all. But I was quickly made aware that it was by the instructor. As he walked toward the back of the salon, with a loud voice for all to hear, lectured the student in a demeaning way..saying that she wasn't prepared and how she should have been, etc. I think the manner in which he called for her was unprofessional and uncalled for. He could have nicely walked to find her and let her know his thoughts privately. This would have been more respectful. During the haircut he was pleasant and I had a great experience with my stylist. I will return but I do not agree with the unprofessionalism salons/salon schools tend to have. If this occurs again I will no longer support. Other than that the salon was clean and I have no other complaints!

Just got my haircut here for the first time and I’ll never go to another salon! Julia and the staff are amazing, attentive and went the extra mile to make sure I was satisfied. I usually dread going to the salon but had the best experience here. Highly recommend - great prices and great service.

I have gotten my hair cut at Sono Academy three times over the last two years. I admit that I was a bit wary at first but I have been satisfied with my cut each time. The first two times I only asked for a trim and dry but most recently I requested a more drastic cut. The attention to detail that the students put in has been impressive. I have a lot of hair (thick, straight and fairly well-behaved) and each of the three students worked slowly to give me great cuts, with the instructor coming by when asked to ensure the cut was going well. I have learned to budget 1.5 to 2 hours for a cut and dry, which is a given at a great value.

Update: went the next day and the teacher fixed my hair.nnWell, learned my lesson. Just cut my ends today. Then went home and blow dryed it myself. And one side is longer than the other. So I gotta call tomorrow and go back. I thought it was gonna be an easy job. She only cut 1 inch off. Ugh..not happy.

I took the MAC makeup certification course wig Hair Sarah, and i have to say, she’s an amazing teacher. She doesn’t only demonstrate the looks and skills, but she gets Be is the opportunity to practice on each other while she comes around to help each student. I appreciate the class because she isn’t only teaching us skill we need to be professional makeup artist, but she’s also instilling confidence in us to go out there and actually showcase our talent!!
