This is the best martial arts in Newtown. We have tried several lessons at other schools and none of them were good fit for us. Rich is excellent with the kids, he teaches them discipline and respect in a fun way. He builds their confidence up as well. I recommend this school to everyone.

My son started taking classes with Rich approximately 2 months ago and it has been nothing but a very positive experience! Not having a background in any martial art, I have been blown away by the discipline and athleticism I see growing in my 6 year old son. Rich has an amazing way of teaching the children individually yet in a classroom setting with several different abilities (don't know how he does it). What I love most about Rich's teaching style, is the positive manner in which he corrects the children. He gently but firmly verbally explains his expectations and then will demonstrate for clarification if needed. My son jumped in mid-session and he never once felt self-conscious with his lack of ability. At the end of each class, I hear Rich pointing out specifically what each child did well too.... a very positive environment. I highly recommend Rich @ Newtown MDK!! My only regret is not signing my son up sooner.

This is an outstanding class for kids. My son does many activities and tells me that this is his favorite one. Kids learn self defense, respect, and the Korean language. And Mr. Rich Ahlers is an awesome instructor; he teaches with enthusiasm, discipline and makes it fun for kids. Best activity ever!

Rich is an amazing martial arts instructor.. Very passionate and driven to teach... I would highly recommend Newtown Moo Duk Kwan to anyone looking for a well rounded martial arts experience.

My Daughter has been part of the studio for almost 2 years now and I can't say enough good things about it. Rich is so great with the kids and the parents, love him, my daughter will be training with him for a long time.
