The Cosmetic Medic

It has been over a year and 3 months, since being seen by this doctor. I am so depressed over the procedures she had done to my face. My face looks distorted, even more wrinkles under eyes after the filler. I can’t even smile, as I used to, because my lips are uneven; more filler on left lower lip and left upper lip. I have Tyndall effect around both eyes. One eye seems larger then the other one. The under eye area is baggy and wrinkly then it has ever been.nIt has been nearly a year, and the effects are not wearing off. My self esteem is so damaged and I keep hoping I will look like my old self, which now I realize I was naturally beautiful without these procedures; I keep reflecting on my pictures before these procedure were done. I miss my old self!nPlease don’t go to this supposed doctor and end up like myself. One look at her and I got a bad feeling, but I didn’t listen to my gut; I have to warn the public, as to not do the same mistake as myself. Please go to someone who knows what they are doing and are compassionate.

Procedures done: December 27, 2018; told by Dr. Karen Soika that I would receive injections of Botox to frown lines, crows, and under eyes/lips also with hyaluronic acid (I hope it was Restylane). I was advised by Dr. Karen Soika to meet her at her home office. December 27, 2018, 3pm, I arrived at the front door; she appeared to left of house, walking from driveway. Dr. Soika advised me to follow her into her basement, which was under construction with dust and dog hairs everywhere. The basement was not well lit; only sparse light from above. She told me she will get the Restylane and Botox from upstairs. She came back with vials and syringes placed in a hospital glove box (similar to a rectangle tissue box with a center slit). She squirted the product, which she told me was Botox and Restylane, on the surface of my face and lips several times, making errors because she wasn’t wearing her glasses properly and the room was not well lit. She fixed her glasses and proceeded to inject more product (crackling sound of injection hitting bone, as told to me by Dr. Soika) into my frown lines, crows, and under eye areas, as I was sitting on a dark colored leather couch. She requested for me to go to the bathroom, to left of the couch, which was also not well lit to examine my face after she placed the injections.nShe asked me if I would like a cold pack for my face, which I replied yes, and she handed me a dirty bag of ice to take home.nI called/texted Dr. Soika, everyday since the procedure discussing my deformities. I am left with my right eye larger, dents/puffiness/and more wrinkle lines under both eyes, as well as, Tyndall effect (blue hue scattered lines) under both eyes. I also have a crooked upper lip; left side upper lip is lower. Dr. Soika stated that she will block me from contacting her cell phone and to notify the office, which I did.nJanuary 10, 2019...3:20pm...I received a phone call from the receptionist to make an appointment for February 4, 2019. I once again requested the information of product name and dosage; no accurate response. I explained there was spillage on my face and lips, therefore I should not be charged for the full amount of syringe. She gave me an attitude and stated I must be mistaken and that it most likely was the alcohol pad. I stated that Dr. Soika agreed when I mentioned to her, as she was injecting, that the liquid squirted out of the syringe and onto my face including the lips. Dr. Soika cleansed my face right away with the same alcohol pad she used initially prior to injection. She did not bring enough supplies from her upstairs inventory, and so needed to use the same alcohol pad. I called back the receptionist two more times at the number she called me from and she did not answer, therefore I left messages on the answer machine, which sounds like a home answering machine.nAs of now, discover card had told me the product is xeomin, when I was told by Dr. Soika she was using the actual brand “Botox”. I still have not received any information on the products and dosage used by Dr. Soika.nI realize now I am pregnant and cannot do any procedures. I am writing this message as a warning to others. Almost 9 months; I am left with my right eye larger, right side puffiness, wrinkles under both eyes, Tyndall effect under both eyes, uneven top lip, and bruising blue appearance around both eyes. People keep asking me if I am tired or if something is wrong. Kids told me I look strange.nI have called her office nearly everyday with no response as to what was injected and the dosage.nPlease learn from my errors; better to be happy with who you are. I had to repost this review, because I noticed it magically disappeared. Don’t worry, Dr. Soika, I intend to keep reposting and let the public be aware of your errors.nThis experience led to traumatic consequences; destroyed self esteem, damaging relationships, and overall changed my personality for the worst.nThis doctor lacks compassion and is only concerned with her bank account.
