Tim Murphy - State Farm Insurance Agent

Our vehicle broke down during the pandemic stay at home order and needed to be towed. I had just picked up a curbside grocery order when this happened and was 20 miles from our rural home. I tried to get an Uber or a cab but they were not operating. I called Tim Murphy and he got me home. I will be forever grateful! I have checked into less expensive nationwide insurers and considered switching insurers at times but this experience just confirms that having a local insurance office with people who care is worth the expense! Also, State Farm just reduced our rates since we are driving less. We appreciate it!

Called a few days ago, spoke to Debbie, needed a revision to the coverages for my UTV. She was excellent in checking and returning my call. Coverage was put into effect immediately, couldn't have asked for more.nVery satisfied and thanks so much for the great service.

Spoke with central State Farm rep about moving all my policies (autos, homeowners, umbrella, and rental props) over from another carrier. Got me all the way through and said just needed to have Tim Murphy call me locally to finish homeowners and umbrella. Never rec’d call at set time which I cleared off schedule. Called later, was told Tim “too busy” so got an assistant who could barely add much less speak. He had my number, said would call back after finishing up quote from notes sent to him from central office. Never heard back, called once more, and kid says oh I left a vm with the wrong number.... that was enough. Seriously would I put all these policies with this cartoon shop? Got fantastic coverage and service from Allstate. This was the typical “mountain service” that we too often have to endure although some great people around here that will go out of their way.

We received a letter in the mail from Tim Murphy dated May 13, 2013 stating that they were dropping our policy specifically for the following reasons.nAccident involving a Deer on the road on 02/08/2013nMinor Accident dated 03/30/2011nCitation for following too close in the minor accident dated 03/30/2011nWe have 3 vehicles with 3 different drivers in our family and that is the extent of our driving records and claims for all 3 of us. It turns out that Tim Murphy's letter was a blessing in disguise because we now have a better policy with the Gecko Guy and are saving 15% on our annual premiums. The information stated in this review is based on facts only. I do not recommend Tim Murphy or State Farm and strongly suggest you do your research and shop around for the best coverage and price.
