Giant Eagle Pharmacy

I wish I could give them 0 stars. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I've used Giant eagle forever for my prescriptions, always had issues but never experienced what I did this week. After this we decided to switch pharmacies.nMy son is 3 months old and was on Zantac for his acid reflux. After the recall his doctor put him on something else. (They informed me that even though Zantac was recalled the off brand wasn't, but since he is so young they didn't want to risk it and put us on something completely different) Upon going to the pharmacy to pick it up, the pharmacist (he was super nice) informed us that the insurance hadn't gotten back to them about approving it, since we had already gotten his Zantac that month. He informed me they would call in the morning and to check back in the afternoon. When I called back the next day I got a different Pharmacist. She was the issue. I explained the situation and asked the status of it, she then proceeded to flip out on me and tell me there was no need for us to change his medicine because the off brand wasn't recalled. I explained that we knew that but my doctor didn't want to risk it, she told me my doctors were stupid and misinformed and shouldn't be telling me wrong information. I had then repeated myself and said we knew the over the counter wasn't recalled but they still wanted him on something else. She told me that the insurance probably won't approve it and if I want it approved I have to call myself because they weren't doing it.nnI then had to call his pediatrician back, they called the insurance for me. Who said they completely understand why we are switching, APPROVED it and sent it over to the pharmacy. The prescription was called in on Wednesday, we weren't able to finally get it until Saturday. All while my sons esophagus was inflamed and making him miserable.nnIf you can use a different pharmacy this place is a joke.

the pharmacy is so nice and they get your prescriptions filled on time and have auto refill. I am a type one diabetic and this is important to me to have my insulin and supplies ready on time. Also the pharmacist is very helpful and friendly which is important as type one diabetes is so very complicated . complicated

Very fast you also get gas points

Giant eagle is a filth shed that should have went out of business 10 years ago.
