Super surprised by the negative comments here! Ferri's has all the perks of a hometown privately-owned shop, but that of course means there are also limitations- but we can't have it both ways! Ferris is a complex of 3 stores: grocery store, drug store & hardware store (on the side of building) So you have access to all products such as Giant Eagle, Rite Aid & Stanford's all in to one.nnIf you didn't know Ferris also makes hot foods, sandwich hoagies, fresh to bake pizzas, fresh baked bread, buns, cakes, cookies, strudels etc., & even an assortment of cheeses, Italian meats, olives etc. in the deli section. Just the same, they have weekly advertisements and sales as well as electronic coupons that truly lower pricing if you take time to download.nnThe benefits of Ferris, over a commercial store like the Giant Eagle, for me are no lines at the checkout, no long walks to your car in the cold rain and snow, local farmed milk, eggs, dairy products; you can even get milk in the old school glass bottles that you recycle when you're done for $2 off your next purchase. They will deliver medication or food if called by 11 a.m. that same day. They offer assistance loading your bags & then will bring the cart back into the store for you. I don't typically use this service, but if I'm not feeling well or have a lot of bags, I will absolutely take advantage of the extra help!nnThen there are times it benefits me to shop a larger commercial store. For example, if i have a longer grocery list, doing back to school shopping in need of many notebooks, pencils etc (these are high priced) or in need of rare brands, specialty items, or less common produce. Side note... I've never gotten poor produce, it's important to watch what you choose at any grocery store.nnWhile my positive personal experience at Ferris is only based on my shopping trips, we can't have it both ways at one store- therefore I shop at both depending on what I need. As far as customer service, a smaller privately owned store needs to be more concerned with overhead, due to smaller quantity contracts with larger grocer companies and not buying in bulk like larger stores. While I do agree the office staff do not seem as pleasant as those on the floor working with customers. I run to Ferris several times a week as things come up that I need, and also for medication; overall the prices are higher but the convenience when I'm short on time can't be beat!

Walking into this store is never a nice experience... the smell is horrendous and the cashiers possess personalities equivalent to a bucket of dookie. Won’t be patronizing this establishment any longer.

Bad. A short male cashier with thick glasses is especially unpleasant. Food smells too.
