Never In My Life IGot Charged To Renew My Library Card. I’m Not Sure If The Lady In The Front Desk Do These Type Of Scams To Get Money Out Of People But, Based On The Other Reviews It Looks Like She Hasn’t Just Done This To Me. You Guys Need BETTER Customer Service !
I LOVE this library — it is such a hidden gem!! The library hosts great events and regular activities for both children and adults. It has an ever growing abundance of books and also holds weekly book sales. The staff is AMAZING at this location!! They are so kind, helpful and engaging with patrons of all ages! Thank you for a great local resource right in Chestnut Hill! — A weekly patron!
In my forty years of living & have been going to libraries since elementary school I've NEVER experienced such a rude, nasty librarian. NEVER. EVER.nI always thought librarians are retired older people enjoying life. Clearly my thinking is wrong.nI just wanted to sign up use computer to print one paper. THAT'S IT.nI could go further and report this mean old lady. But I won't. I'll rant on here. Warn future visitors by this review & let her continue to live her miserable old life.
Was at the Monday 1 - 5pm book sale. All of the volunteers were very nice. However, the one lady, heavy set with glasses and frazzled gray hair decided to arbitrarily overcharge me for .50 paperbacks saying they were $2 each. Not sure if she does this to people and pockets the extra cash or what her deal was. While this is a minor amount and I let it go I don't like dishonest people. I've been to numerous libraries where I've bought books over the years and never encountered someone arbitrarily making up their own prices when prices are cleared displayed. I bought 67 books yesterday and was planning on going again before that happened. But no thank you. Please don't cheat people.
By and large the staff is friendly and helpful, but there is one woman who is really miserable. She just sits there with neither a smile nor even much of acknowledgement that you're even there. Unfortunately she does the checking out of books. If anybody from the library is reading this, I'm sure you know who I mean. It would be a much more pleasant experience if she given other duties.
