Truly inept in every regard. I paid my ticket the day after I was pulled over(6 months ago), and got a notice in the mail yesterday saying I would have my license suspended if I didn’t pay a ticket... I had no idea what it could be for. Lo and behold, Wells Money Making court. The letter said I owed the original balance, so I go online and pay the balance listed ($200). They couldn’t see an original payment, but my card did originally get charged... no big deal honestly. Get a call the next morning from a lady who says “the total remaining is $800, you can either pay online or I’d gladly give you to our collections department, what are you going to decide to do”. Where did the $800 come from, from this ticket I already paid? Late fees. Court fees.
You know what isn’t worth it? Driving back through this state and county to try and figure this out in person and go to a new court date, just to receive another ticket from the overwhelmingly kind quota-encouraged officers. Plan your route AROUND this cesspool
I called last week 23 TIMES - not a single answer. One time I left a voicemail (in spite of the recording saying no one will return calls), in hopes that it would at least reach SOME human being on the other end. Now I am going to be punished because someone isn't doing their job... When an officer specifically instructs you to CALL THE PHONE NUMBER on the citation, you expect to reach someone that can help! Ridiculous.
I can't even get through to someone on the phone it keeps saying the voice mail is full then hangs up I was calling for over an hour.
Worst run place. Can’t get anything correct.
I wish I could give this S-Hole 0 stars. So I call them at 1:10pm and get a busy signal. Confused I check the number again and call back, this time a lady answers...
Me: "What's with the busy signal?"
Lady: "We closed from 12pm-1pm for lunch."
Me (shocked): "Well ok but first off it's 1:15pm, second and more importantly don't you think that an organization such as yourself who issues warrants for arrest for unpaid citations, should at least do the taxpaying community the service of having a $10 answering machine with a recorded message informing when feeding time is around there?"
Lady: Silence. Blanken stare. Possibly a little drool forming.
Me: "Ok I'd like to pay my ticket now, says here you accept Visa/Mastercard."
Lady: "We don't have that ability to do payments over the phone."
(Now, interestingly, exactly at the same time across town, a man is paying for his carne asada burrito at a food truck, using an ATM card!)
Me: "Ok, really? So I have to mail in a check?"
Lady: "We don't take personal checks, just takin cashiers checks/money orders."
Me: "Well, thanks" Hangup.
Now, I imagine some of you, like me don't live in this town. Do yourself a favor and mail in your cashier's check/money order using CERTIFIED mail so that when these knuckle dragging leeches inevitably lose it, you will have some recourse. Good Luck!
