Such a gem and so close to home! You can never go wrong with a trip to any part of the Bear Creek Preserve. Trails are perfectly marked and so nicely maintained. The main area is awesome with so many different trails to chose from and can go for a short hike or an all dayer. The Dry lands area is peaceful and great for runs too!

The red loop is a true hike through the woods. Wear boot's or a good hiking sneaker. Single trail for a good portion. Rocky. Yellow loop not as hard as the red. Not crowded if you go early.

Uses to love stopping here. Now i see they have an area dedicated to lost loved ones that it littered with deflated balloons and papers. No disrespect to those lost i understand its a sentimental place to some but it seriously looks Horrible. Leave nature the way you found it.

The parking lot is relatively small, can fit about 10 cars, there's another parking lot, even smaller. This is a good thing because this park can never get over crowded. The scenic Vista on the yellow trail is okay. Not a big deal if you miss it. We picked up a trail with blue/purple/gray color from the main parking lot which goes along the stream. After you pass the second waterfall that is listed on the map go a little further down the stream, and that's where the second bridge was located. That was my favorite part. Then we got back mostly on the red trail. Hiked almost 8 miles but that includes the yellow.
