Easy to find tower from the main lot. Worth the walk and climb. They say you can see 5 counties from here. The steps are straight up ladder style, with platforms every so often.
The hikes here are very fun! We hike to the tower (just a bit strenuous uphill at times) then back down a rockier path through trees (steep at times) with a few fun rocks/boulders to climb up. Not too long but a great outing for kids!
Classic parking lot feel. Would park again.
This park is well worth a visit in any season. We visited in the winter and enjoyed a good hike up to the viewing tower. I would recommend bringing water, and wearing clothing that is sturdy and can get dirty if you plan to climb the tower. The ladders up inside the tower will be slippery/cold but wear good shoes and you will find it is well worth the climb! Amazing views from the top. Definitely recommend.
Even since the tower was closed, which was the main reason for hiking, it was still a lovely and unique place with lots of trails and a helluva workout. :)
