The trail (not just the parking lot!) Was a great place for a walk with the kids or a bike ride.

Nice parking area. Bathrooms are available. Short walk to Appalachian Trail access.

Trout run trail itself is rather boring. It’s a fairly short there and back. and it goes under the highway. And generally hugs the road. It ends along the swatara rail trail which is kinda fun, it appears to be a blocked off road so my dog loved it. They had a little rhododendron tunnel which would be nice in bloom.
