I just went to watch the snow geese at sunset time today. The trail by the parking lot leads to a vista spot with pavilion and picnic tables/benches, where you get to have a wide open view of the lake. Watching the birds flying in sunset was so breathtaking! It’s really worth the trip no matter how far you are.

This place offers a nice paved trail to view the wildlife. There are metered viewers if you dont bring your own binoculars its a photographer's paradise
